"Index but not submitted in Sitemap" is a very common issue that usually every website faces. But first lets discuss what does this issue means and to understand this issue we must need to understand the term "Index but not submitted in Sitemap".
So, Index but not submitted in Sitemap is made up of two main terms 'Index' and 'sitemap'. So Index or indexing is a process in which search engines collects web pages and stores them in their database and Through this database, search engine responds to the search queries entered by users. So whenever someone searches any query, google just shows them the pages that google organised for that particular Keyword or Query. So this is what index means and if we talk about 'sitemap', So, Sitemap is basically the structure of your website or the map of you website. Whenever a boat crawls your website it follows the routes of the sitemap to reach to different URL's present on your website. So the term 'Index but not submitted in Sitemap' means that your webpage has been indexed by the search engine but it is not appearing in the sitemap of your website.
Now the main part comes of how to resolve this issue, so first you need to open your google search console dashboard - then click on coverage - then click on valid (it is highlighted with green colour) - then scroll down and you will see a section named 'Index but not submitted in Sitemap' - click on that - now you will see all the URL's with this particular - so click on any one of them - a window will appear from right - click on inspect URL option - then finally click on Request Indexing - then after this wait for around 10-15 days after which this issue will be resolved.
