Khajrana Ganesh Mandir, as the name suggests the mandir is devoted to God Ganesh and is situated in the Khajrana region of Indore and and thus it is most popularly known as 'Khajrana'. The mandir was constructed by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar in 1735 and is among the most famous Ganesh Temples in India.
The interesting fact about this temple is the evolution of this temple, it is said that the local priest of that time 'Pandit Mangal Bhatt Ji' use to see the ancient idol in his dreams. Later, Rani Ahilyabai exacavated the ground when the found the said idol of 'God Ganesh' and then they installed it in the temple made just infront of that place and the place from where the ancient idol was removed, there is a well, just right infront of the temple. So this was how the most famous temple of Indore evolved.
Initially it was just a small hut but today it has been developed to a huge structure including many small temples and a large parking space, shops and garden. The locals have a lot of faith in the temple and it is believed that all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled after they worship in this temple.
